Xiaomi Pocophone F1 leaks in full on retail site: here’s the lowdown

  • A Xiaomi Pocophone F1 listing has appeared on a Romanian retail website.
  • The listing reveals the specs and price of the unannounced Xiaomi phone, and provides some images.
  • We still don’t know if the listing is legit, but it’s a good effort if it’s fake.

Xiaomi is working on a new device, currently referred to as the Pocophone F1, and it may have just broken cover on a Romanian retail site. In a listing spotted by GSMArena, retailer PCGarage.ro shows off the potential Pocaphone F1 from all angles, along with price and specs.

The handset appears in a metallic purple color with a notch, rear dual camera system, and fingerprint scanner. It’s said to have a 6-inch IPS display (2246 x 1080 resolution), octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset (up to 2.8GHz, with liquid cooling), 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

These are the best Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi might not be well known in the West, but it’s popular in many Asian countries. It was the fourth-largest smartphone manufacturer by market share in China last year, according to Counterpoint. It beat Apple by …

On the back is a 12MP + 5MP camera setup (with AI capabilities), while the front camera comes in at 20MP. There’s also a 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, Bluetooth 5.0 and it’s running MIUI 9.0 based on Android Oreo.

The Pocophone F1 price is set at 1,999 Leu (~$499) and both the specs, price point and features align with previous speculation.

Xiaomi hasn’t officially announced this phone, so this is still in rumor territory for now, and if there’s one thing casting doubt on this it’s the image at the top-right of the page. The out-of-focus, bottom half smudge showing the “Pocophone” name throws its legitimacy into question, but then, there are other images on the page (like the label and display sticker) that look totally legit.

That’s just my two cents, but I hope it is the real deal because it looks like it could be another quality offering from the Chinese giant.
