Nokia went all out with phone releases at MWC 2017, where the Finnish company launched its Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 3310 phones to the market. Despite the company’s large list of phones, there was one that got away, the Nokia 8.
The flagship phone will run on Android, is expected to come with a high-end Zeiss camera lens, an octa-core processor with a Snapdragon 835 chipset and have a fingerprint sensor. Current rumours suggest the flagship smartphone will run on Android and will come out in August 2017.

Nokia 8 UK release date rumours: When will the Nokia 8 be released?
Based on a media invite that we recently received, we expect the phone to be launched on 16 August 2017. The event is most probably for the new handset, but there hasn’t been any official confirmation from HMD, the company that took over Nokia. We’ll be sure to update this article once it has officially been announced.
Nokia 8 UK price rumours: How much will the Nokia 8 cost?
The Indian website recently published an expected price of the N8. The leak suggested the new phone will cost Rs. 41,999 – a direct conversion into sterling would put the N8’s UK price at around £550. The problem is that at this end of the market, there are lots of devices. If Nokia truly wants to draw attention to its flagship device, we’d expect a cheaper price; only time will tell.

Based on the design of the Nokia 5 and 6, we expect it to have rounded edges, a USB 3.1 Type-C charging and data port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Being a high-end phone, we also expect to see a fingerprint reader integrated into its front-capacitive button, as found on the Nokia 6.
Under Microsoft, Nokia released a few Lumia devices with a protruding camera. Despite being rumoured with a Zeiss lens, current trends suggest to us that phones with a noticeable camera bump are unfavourable. Thus, we can’t see the Finnish company going back to its old Lumia design, but still featuring a Zeiss lens, as Nokia did with the Nokia Lumia 920.
Nokia 8 camera rumours: What camera will the Nokia 8 have?
Since its Lumia range, Nokia has been known for its superb camera quality. Carl Zeiss lenses are highly respected within the camera industry, and given Nokia’s history with Zeiss, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to think that the new Nokia 8 will feature a non-protruding Zeiss lens.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see Nokia include a single 24-megapixel camera or a dual 13-megapixel lens. We’d expect it to have phase-detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and have the ability to record video at 2160p at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps.
A huge 12-megapixel front-facing camera can also be expected, which will make it an unbelievable good phone for selfies.
We’re keeping our eyes peeled at rumours, and we’ll be sure to update this article with any new information, as and when it becomes available.
